Ways Of Seeing.

Through dance, rowing, visual art, and theatre, I have learned to notice rhythm, respond to others, and communicate without always relying on words.

01 / Dance

More Than A Decade In Motion.

Dance has been one of the longest continuities in my life. I began training in ballet more than ten years ago and later expanded into contemporary, jazz, and street jazz, learning to approach movement through both discipline and experimentation. My ballet training includes the Royal Academy of Dance Advanced Foundation qualification with High Merit, alongside recognition from youth dance competitions in Singapore, Japan, China, and Europe.

At Hotchkiss, dance became not only a personal practice but also a way of building something with others. As President and Choreographer of the Hotchkiss Dance Company, one of the school's largest arts organizations, I lead a 30-member company, choreograph performances, coordinate rehearsals, costumes, and production, and help shape five annual showcases.

I also helped initiate the school's first collaboration between the Dance Company and Orchestra, bringing live music and movement together in a performance of The Nutcracker.

Beyond campus, I lead weekly dance workshops for 20+ children from underserved communities, extending a practice that has shaped me into something I can share with others.

Rowing taught me a different kind of movement. As a coxswain for Girls Varsity Rowing, my role was not to generate power with an oar, but to read the boat: its rhythm, balance, speed, and the eight athletes moving within it. Five years in the sport taught me to make decisions quickly, communicate clearly, and understand how individual effort becomes collective momentum.

Training often began at 5:00 a.m., from regular practices to spring-break training in Boston, where I also learned single and double rowing.

Picture To Be Updated

Visual art has been part of my creative life since childhood. Over more than ten years, I have worked across sketching, oil painting, acrylic, pencil, line drawing, and mixed media, creating more than 100 works ranging from landscapes and portraits to animals, still life, and abstract compositions.

My work has been featured in Celebrating Art, and I have also contributed artwork to Save the Children in support of charitable initiatives.

For me, drawing and painting begin with observation: slowing down, paying attention to form, light, color, and details that are easy to overlook.

Theatre has allowed me to move between performance and production—to inhabit a character onstage, then step behind the scenes to understand how an entire production comes together.

With the Hotchkiss Dramatic Association, I performed in major productions including Chicago and Pippin, collaborating with casts, musicians, directors, designers, and technical crews of more than 70 people. In Chicago, I played Hunyak, incorporating Mandarin translation into the performance. In Pippin, I was cross-gender cast as Theo, exploring a character beyond traditional casting conventions.

I also performed in and helped produce student-led black box productions, while serving as both director and stage manager for more than five shows. Working behind the scenes meant coordinating rehearsals, cues, props, costumes, and teams of up to 20 students—learning that a performance depends as much on listening and coordination as it does on what happens under the lights.
