Creating Spaces Where People Feel Connected.

Leadership, to me, is less about holding a title than about noticing what a community needs—and finding ways to bring people together. At Hotchkiss, I have helped create cultural traditions, support classmates through transitions, and build connections that extend beyond graduation.

01 — Cultural Leadership

Building Community Through Culture.

As the Cultural Ambassador and Head of the Chinese Club and Lunar New Year Committee, I help make Chinese culture visible, participatory, and shared across the Hotchkiss community. I have led programming for 600+ students and helped organize three Lunar New Year celebrations, bringing together students, faculty, staff, families, and alumni.

From recruiting performers and coordinating rehearsals to organizing food booths, calligraphy demonstrations, language activities, publicity, and staging, I work across many parts of the school to turn a cultural celebration into a campus-wide experience.

02 — Campus Community

Helping People Find Their Place.

As a member of Class Council, I help organize experiences that bring together a class of more than 180 students, from study breaks and game nights to wellness events, picnics, and class traditions. I also serve as an International Student Mentor, supporting new students as they adjust to life at Hotchkiss. Through orientation, campus tours, course selection, and regular check-ins, I have mentored six international students, helping them navigate both the practical and personal sides of entering a new school and culture.

For me, community is often built through small moments: knowing whom to ask, having someone to sit with, or simply feeling that there is a person who notices whether you are settling in.

Keeping A Community Connected Over Time.

Selected as a Class Agent for the Hotchkiss Alumni Office, I help maintain connections between classmates and the school beyond graduation. My role includes sharing Alumni Office updates, promoting class events and reunions, encouraging participation, and serving as a bridge between students and the wider Hotchkiss community.

It has made me think about leadership beyond a single school year: not simply creating moments of connection, but helping relationships continue over time.
